To our StayAltered Host Alliance members…
Remember the thrill of traveling without a plan? Every day was an adventure. No map, no cell phone, no direction – just your head, your heart, and the kindness of strangers.
Now we find ourselves back in uncharted territory, but instead of feeling excited about the possibilities, we are afraid and frustrated. Our places we call home are empty. As a result, the livelihoods of our people – our staff, suppliers, and communities – are at risk. The planet feels empty of the love and energy (and late-check outs) us hosts thrive on.
Some countries have cast safety nets to protect their citizens and companies. A few are even protecting independent and small business entrepreneurs. In counties with weaker social services, everyone is suffering. As a new company on a mission to support independent hosts, StayAltered must help.
You are some of the world’s best independent hosts; you are steadfast in the belief of the power of hospitality but always adaptable to life’s changes. You know working damn hard every damn day isn’t enough; it’s how you do what you do that truly matters.
This is why you exist, and this is why I exist too. If you ever need help, I am here for you. For now, I must stay where I am. But I – and millions around the world – cannot wait for the day when I will stay with you again. See you soon. Until then, this is for you.
