A social enterprise founded by team of driven individuals, who are working to develop sustainable community tourism models in the remote villages
Parengtar is a close-knit community that helps one another with daily and agricultural duties, mostly their paddy fields. Home to a majority of Kirati Rai people of the Eastern Himalayas, they aim to preserve their indigenous worship of land and nature through interactive learning, events and local cultural experiences. Roshan Rai is one of the first people in his area to start promoting tourism, and has opened his family home to guests, Rangka-Sukim Homestay. Binita Rai is the lady of the house and has a deep passion for plants and flowers with an exquisite nursery.
Rangka Sukim Homestay aspires to inspire guests by providing immersive experiences that foster a deeper connection with nature, community, and indigenous culture. Through interactive learning, participation in local festivals, and engagement with sustainable practices, guests are encouraged to reflect on their own lifestyles and consider the value of preserving traditional wisdom and environmental stewardship. By nurturing a sense of appreciation for the land and its people, the homestay aims to empower guests to make positive changes in their lives and contribute to the holistic well-being of both individuals and communities.
