Experience remote living on the farm by the lake

The earthy cottages are in sync with nature and modern comforts

From simple things like drinking filtered water instead of bottled, to enjoying farm produced food. We tend to share a list of things our guests can plan before visiting us.

The space has been built and run with the help of local tribal community, we are also an NGO Shunya Jargun. Our guests can collaborate with the NGO in their capacity by sharing knowledge or resources for the betterment of the community.

House Rules

Dear Friends, 👩‍🌾 While surprises CAN often be fun, familiarity IS always comforting! It is through this familiarity that we want to make your stay here, both - fun and comfortable. Know us better, so your time at Awata can be the best! To us you aren’t guests, you’re family 👯; so we too expect you to treat the space like your home. We’re not a fancy resort, but we’ve very beautiful natural surroundings and that’s what we offer - a farm stay to experience nature by being part of it 🌄. Raw! Not luxurious, but most certainly comfortable & tastefully done with lotsa potsa lou! 🏡 Your furry family is ours too! 🐶 In fact we’d love them more than our own extended families 🐈 but please keep them away from furniture & beddings. We do not provide room service & request you to treat our staff as part of our family. As we all know now, being आत्मनिर्भर is the new mantra 🤗 While we’re all about being आत्मनिर्भर, we still cook for you 🥗 But we request you to respect our food timings & please do not waste food. ⏱️ Please do not keep any eatable in the cottage as it might attract visitors 🐜 🐀 🐸 at night. While we say Awata is our home, the region is also home to frogs 🐸, jackals 🦊, snakes 🐍 and crawling insects🐜🐀. We being the intruders, need to keep a safe distance. But hey, if they happen to scare you, just call for help - anytime! We do not permit loud music 🔇 as we we have our very own ironically underrated but the most sought after band playing for you at all times - silence. Try it...you won’t regret it! While a getaway may call for getting high and tipsy, we do not permit consumption 🍷 of any form of intoxicants🚭. Because we want you to be tripping on nature. This detoxifying intoxication is something we don’t just recommend but insist on! We know the lake we got looks too inviting, but please do not go for a swim in the lake, it's not safe 🏊. Instead, a walk by the lake would be perfect. 🚶Hey it even sounds like some amazing romantic film “A walk by the lake”! So be in the film and not in the lake ;-) Yes we’re all about comfort, but in collaboration with nature we have a special monsoon adventure for you. 🛤️ The last 1km of the road to reach Awata let’s you experience all terrain driving! But if you’re not into adventure, we would love to pick you up from the main road, so don’t worry. Our love for nature is evident in the sustainable designs of the cottages. Our cottage walls are built with stones and have high roof tiled ceilings, which keeps the place cool throughout the day. You will not find any ACs or coolers at Awata. And while we are the caretakers of Awata, Nature’s the boss here. She does not ask for permission, she has nothing to do with our wishes, and whether we like her laws or not we are bound to accept her as she is, and consequently all her conclusions! That having been said, we really look forward to providing you with an experience you’ll love to cherish.

Other Notes

There are various routes from Mumbai & Nasik, which takes approx. 4 hours and 1.5 hours respectively. The interior meandering roads through the tribal belts are scenic, safe and well kept.
