We make sustainability the default, not a “green menu”. Guests are encouraged to reduce housekeeping frequency (towels/linen on request), use refillable water and amenities where available, and follow clear in-room guidance on sorting waste and saving water and energy. We also promote low-impact experiences—walking trails, local nature spots, and local producers—so guests can enjoy the Serra without unnecessary driving, waste, or high-impact activities.

We make it easy for guests to spend their time (and money) locally, not in generic “tourist traps”. We prioritise local suppliers and family businesses for food, drinks and services, and we actively direct guests to village-run cafés, artisans, and producers nearby. On top of that, we share a curated list of local spots and experiences (walks, nature points, local producers, small shops) and, whenever possible, connect guests with local guides/partners so the benefit stays in the community around Paul and Covilhã.
