Your hosts at Svanir lead tours which gives you an insider's access to the village as well as exploring natural & cultural sites which are customised according to your interests and time in hand. For example we have specialised curates handloom and craft tours to villages like Nuapatna and Raghurajpur, where you can watch weavers at work, try your hand at mask-making, or learn the ancient art of Talapatachitra painting.
Svanir Experiences highlights the cultural and community treasures of the state, through the eyes of its artisans and architecture
Practices like rainwater harvesting, recycling greywater in the garden, organic farming, minimum use of single plastics, and the use of the traditional bucket and mug system in the bathrooms are some of the green practices which the homestay follows.
All of our staff comes from the village that we share our address with.
We organize walks within the property to acquaint guest about indigenous plants and stories about holistic healing. As awarded photographers and who love the craft, we are always eager to impart our knowledge and conduct photo walks. For artists or anyone who wants to learn and new art form, we would be happy to organise workshop with local artists to learn Pattachitra paintings, terracotta, coir craft etc (at a cost).
