As a touring musician, web developer, and creative agency owner, I experienced creative burnout that caused my health to fail to the point of physical paralysis. This led to seeking a healthy lifestyle balance outside the box, bridging the physical and digital worlds in harmony, and the desire to build a place for like-minded people to turn their dreams into reality. And so Jaiyen was built. Shela and I met during the initial creation process, learning and developing together throughout the COVID pandemic that closed the island off to most of the world. As a journalist, writer, yoga practitioner, artist, budding chef, and women's empowerment guide, she turned Jaiyen into a home away from home for both the people and animals who visited our humble abode. The unique mix of nature + island solitude + blockchain technology + healthy living + spirituality + creative expression were the initial seeds planted at Jaiyen Eco Resort, and we have been the grateful custodians of our combined vision for the past 5 years.
