Our little house is brimming with carefully chosen details that reflect our personalities and inspirations. From the open-air spaces to the mountain views, every corner tells a story. Guests will be greeted by the soothing sound of a small fountain and a charming yard adorned with cacti, fruit trees, and herbs.
Inside, our open kitchen showcases a small collection of Mexican folk art, while the living room has panoramic windows. In one of the rooms we have a bookshelf with a curated selection of Spanish-language books on art, history, and literature, as well as some board games.
During their stay, guests are welcome to use these shared spaces, which we enjoy alongside them for half of the day. We share our home with three lovable dogs who spend their mornings on the property.
The guest room exudes a minimalist yet cozy vibe, featuring a comfortable Queen size bed and a tower fan for added comfort. We provide complimentary personal hygiene products sourced from Mexican brands known for their natural and environmentally friendly ingredients.
In the kitchen, guests will find an honesty bar stocked with a variety of Mexican snacks and beverages. It’s our way of inviting guests to indulge in local flavors at their leisure. Each morning we share breakfast with the guests.
My mother founded a Spanish school in 1997, in Downtown Oaxaca City. The school continued through the next two decades, and, since then, one of our main goals has been to make people feel at home. When the pandemic hit in 2020, we were already being pushed out of the city because of the ever growing gentrification, so we had to close our school. This didn’t stop our love for teaching Spanish and for sharing our culture with people from other countries, so we decided to build a special home for that purpose. The school became a school-house, open to anyone who needs, not only a place to stay, but a personalized and totally immersive program of language and culture.
We aim to provide a sustainable and meaningful Spanish immersion experience in Oaxaca through excellent Spanish classes and exceptional accommodation in a small-scale, family environment. We share conversations, coffee, and sometimes lunch, dinner, cocktails, or a walk in the village or the nearby trails.

In our place guests will be able to actually interact and have a cultural exchange with their hosts: a local family integrated by independent women, in a traditional village where they can experience Oaxaca from a non-touristy perspective.
We utilize local resources, such as local and organic ingredients, the local workforce, and public transport. We prioritize water conservation and minimize waste generation. We exclusively employ biodegradable and natural cleaning products.
We’ve implemented a biofilter system for treating and reusing greywater. The last phase of our system involves a small constructed wetland, providing a habitat for insects and frogs, where water is further cleaned by plants. A portion of this treated water is then returned to the groundwater table.
