Inspiring People

We Inspire guests to have an authentic experience of Mexico City

Our staff is at the core of what we do. The kind and hospitable atmosphere we create is all thanks to our lovely staff

I am a solo founder. After 15 years of working in marketing and entertainment, I decided to become independent motivated by my passion for all things Mexican. I discovered that through a bed and breakfast, I could promote to foreign guests the true values that have formed Mexico

When hiring, we look for someone authentic and who truly cares about our guests. These are the members of La Palomilla Family:

  • Elvia – Housekeeper – From Mexico City
  • Gaby – Housekeeper – From Mexico City
  • Roberto – Overnight doorman – From Mexico City
  • Gerardo – Overnight doorman – From Chalco
  • Eduardo – Innkeeper – From Puebla

We try to be as sustainable as possible. Some sustainable process we have incorporated are:

  • The purchase of local products (within 100 km), and products made on-site
  • Repurposed furniture
  • Donation of no longer needed accessories/furniture
  • The use of refillable accessories for soap, creams, shampoo, etc
  • Separation of organic and inorganic garbage
  • Light sensors in public areas.
  • Use of a dishwasher to avoid wasting water
  • Hot water heaters calibrated so that hot water is instantly available, so as to avoid wasting water
  • Proper use of natural light

Impactful Planet

Every corner of La Palomilla has been created to conserve the environment

The elements that compose La Palomilla seek the both social and economic development of Mexican talent.

  • We buy local products in support of Fair Trade
  • We try to recommend local restaurants & shops
  • From the bed sheets to the soap, almost every element of La Palomilla supports a Mexican business or artisan
  • We support the environment by using eco-friendly products, by taking advantage of natural light and the 1920’s Mexican architecture weather wise. This way, by not using AC for example, our carbon footprint is minimal
  • On other topics, our food waste is also minimal
  • You have to walk up the stairs. Its three stories. We only had space for a luggage elevator so get that heart rate going!
  • The food we serve daily is homemade, farm to table and made fresh with the best ingredients. We consider everybody’s dietary needs and include them into our recepies
