Weekend Getaway: Imagining a More Hospitable Future

Weekend Getaway:

Imagining a More Hospitable Future

In our “Weekend Getaways” series, we explore unique ideas and experiences that inspire reflection and transformation. Our third getaway takes us to a future where “hospitality” replaces “sustainability” as a guiding principle for addressing ecological, social, and cultural challenges.

Hospitality 3.0: A New Framework for the Future

As we confront global crises, Savinien Caracostea, co-creator of the Hospitality 3.0 framework, asks a vital question: “What if we replaced the word ‘sustainability’ with ‘hospitality’?” According to Caracostea, “Crises emerge when hospitality doesn’t advance as quickly as technology.” This thought-provoking concept invites us to reconsider how we approach the challenges of our time.

The Role of Hospitality in Addressing Challenges

The Hospitality 3.0 framework proposes that by embracing hospitality, we can create environments that foster community, belonging, and growth. This approach balances technological advancements with nurturing human connections and natural ecosystems.

Aligning with StayAltered's Principles

Many of the themes and strategies proposed in Hospitality 3.0 align with the founding principles of StayAltered. Practicing and implementing this framework is more than just an aspiration; it is essential for our survival and thriving in the future.

Previous Weekend Getaways

Our first Weekend Getaway took us to Puerto Escondido, Mexico, where we explored sustainable tourism and its positive impact on local communities. Our second getaway delved into our shadow side, encouraging self-reflection on harmful behaviors within the sustainability and regeneration industries.
Each getaway offers a unique perspective and a breath of fresh air, inspiring us to consider new ways of thinking and being.
